The Dry Ridge Fire Department is a combination volunteer, and career personnel. The DRFD is located at 31 Broadway and is the hub for personnel and administrative duties. The full time Emergency Care 1 crew staffs this station 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The Dry Ridge Fire Department has 8 full time career staff, which includes a Lieutenant and Fire Chief. The other six, staff EC 1 (Emergency Care 1) for a 24 hour period, then have 48 hours off. EC 1 is always staffed with a minimum  EMT-Basic, and a Paramedic. By having a paramedic EC 1, we are considered able to give advanced life support.

The purpose and objective of the Dry Ridge Fire Department shall be: To provide emergency response to fires, explosions, hazardous materials response at the operations level and other emergencies that may arise within the Dry Ridge Fire Department, Grant County, Kentucky and/or surrounding areas.  To promote Fire Prevention and Public Education, Safety Awareness, and goodwill in the community.  To acquire and hold for said purpose, money, real estate or other property considered necessary by the Fire Department to carry out said objectives, and to do any and all things necessary or incidental to the accomplishment of such purpose.   To accomplish these objectives with a combination of volunteer and career personnel within our budgetary means.
